Two types of child custody are recognized in Arkansas: physical custody and legal custody. Legal custody determines who has the ability to make decisions on behalf of the child, while physical custody determines the child’s primary residence. Both types of custody may be awarded to one parent primarily or shared by both parents.
Child custody and visitation orders are not necessarily permanent. When situations change, these orders can be modified accordingly.
Our firm can help you file for an initial custody arrangement, and we can help you petition for modifications when appropriate. We can also represent you in cases where you or your child’s other parent is planning to relocate, as these can be particularly difficult matters to bring to court. We have represented parents in all types of cases, including those with high levels of conflict.
Our firm represents clients throughout the state of Arkansas. Please contact our office today to schedule a consultation or to learn more about the services we provide.
